Dear Key Point Families,
It's my pleasure to introduce myself as part of the team here at Key Point!
My name is Chef David Rodriguez, I am the new Executive Chef for Key Point. My background is extensive; I started my career with the Ritz Carlton; in Puerto Rico, Washington DC, Boston, Saint Thomas, and Mexico. I have also been part of the Italian, Saudi Arabia Embassy, Capitol Hill and The White House.
I had the honor and opportunity of running large operations around the world such as; being the Corporate Chef for Penn Gaming running 47 entertainment venues around the world. My true passion is chocolate, I trained in Belgium to be a Chocolatier. The opportunity arose to be part of the largest pastry company in the world, Puratos, for 7 years. I was based out of Miami, Fl and in charge of North America, South America, and the Caribbean. With Puratos I was invited to be the Pastry Chef for the Grammys & Emmys in 2010.
I have also created products for Starbucks, Frito Lay, Costco, Burger King, McDonald's, Sam's Clubs, Aldis, Market day in the USA school system, Walmart, Walgreens and I have even made dog cookies for a Chicago based company.
Thinking that I needed some excitement, I started a concept in Las Vegas for a restaurant called Sugar Factory! They have grown into 29 locations around the globe. Under the same umbrella I created other concepts such as Wild & Out with Nick Cannon, I Lov 305 with Pit Bull, Happy Place Donuts, and Dirty Tacos. While creating all these concepts I met, while living in DC, a gentleman that owns prestigious camps in the USA. I became the Director of the F&B program for Tyler Hill Camp giving classes to children from 3-16yrs of age. My Team was responsible for providing impeccable service and phenomenal food to 937 kids 3 times a day 7 days a week for 45 days.
As a parent of 2 young kids, I have always created concepts that target our kids and our future.
At the end of the day, all this experience has taught me that food, language, and music is something that connects all of us. My goal here at Key Point is to provide the best food while creating an awesome experience by creating a fun culinary program.
I am honored and very humbled to call Key Point my new home and welcome all feedback! It is important for us to be able to accommodate all needs, style, and dietary preferences.
